Tallinn Maritime Days to hold workshop on preparing seafood

Fish will be offered in all harbours and marinas participating in the Tallinn Maritime Days, and on Saturday, 27 August, everybody is welcome to come and taste fish dishes prepared by experienced seafood chef Silver Ulm at Haven Kakumäe Marina.

“This time we are focusing on Baltic herring, and since Estonians like fried fish, this is what we will be offering. As to other fish, we will know only in the morning of the same day when the fishermen have returned from the sea and shown us their catch,” described seafood chef Silver Ulm, who shares tips at the Maritime Days.

The seafood workshop in Haven Kakumäe Marina is organized in cooperation with the Fisheries Information Centre and is therefore not limited to seafood.

“We would like to offer people not only a tasting experience, but also knowledge of how fish reaches our table and tips on how to prepare seafood,” added Silver Ulm.

“Cooking seafood has proved to be a magnet for the public also in previous Maritime Days. It also does not require a lot of advertising, because people will find us by the delicious smell. The seafood chef's workshop is also a good example of how it is possible to acquire practical knowledge in Maritime Days,” added Kati Remmelkoor, programme manager in Haven Kakumäe Marina at Tallinn Maritime Days.

The seafood workshop at Haven Kakumäe Marina will be held on Saturday, 27 August at 15.15.

Tallinn Maritime Days will be held this year on 25 - 28 August in the cruise area of the Old City Harbour, Seaplane Harbour, Noblessner Marina and Haven Kakumäe Marina.
