PHOTOS: Tallinn Maritime Days’ final chord featured maritime parade and concert by Stefan

Tallinn Maritime Days, the capital’s largest festival this summer, ended Sunday evening with a spectacular maritime parade and a concert by Stefan that was held in the cruise area of the Old City Harbour and was attended by thousands of people.

“This year's Maritime Days took place in August, which enabled to add the Baltic Sea Day and Night of Ancient Lights to the festival programme. During the four days of the festival it became abundantly clear that people love Tallinn Maritime Days,” said Kristjan Saar, head of the organizing team of Tallinn Maritime Days.

More than 100,000 people visited the harbours and marinas participating in the Maritime Days this year.

“Especially popular were the Seaplane Harbour children's area and the sea taxi. On Saturday, people queued in a 100-metres-long waiting line in the cruise area of the Old City Harbour on Saturday to take a sea taxi ride, and all vessels providing the taxi service were in service,” Kristjan Saar added.

“The Maritime Days festival that was held this year at the end of August was a symbolic and powerful final chord to the entire summer festival and cultural programme of Tallinn. It was a programme filled with lots of activities and unique experiences. As to the Maritime Days, it was important that it offers not only entertainment to the visitors, but also provides excellent platform to discuss more serious issues concerning the health of the Baltic Sea and to seek solutions to problems that we have common with our partners,” said Deputy Mayor of Tallinn, Kaarel Oja.

Tallinn Maritime Days was held on 25 -28 August in the cruise area of the Old City Harbour, Seaplane Harbour, Noblessner Marina and Haven Kakumäe Marina. The Maritime Days are organised by the City of Tallinn.
