In addition to the theme song, the presentation on the Suur Tõll icebreaker at the Seaplane Harbour also introduced the Tallinn Maritime Days 2016 program full of new and interesting events. Deputy mayor and acting Mayor of Tallinn Taavi Aas said that one of the goals of the Maritime Days has always been to offer a rich program of fun activities for the whole family. “That’s why we’ve always offered activities and attractions for visitors of all ages. For example, there are children’s areas in two of the harbours and each year’s program has always included a concert or activity geared especially towards children. This year, children can take part in Reigo Ahven’s drum workshop. The small ship rides have always been loved by the little ones and they are offered this year as well,” Aas said. According to Aas, one of the most positive aspects of this year’s program is the addition of the Pirita Yacht Harbour. “The fact that we’ve been able to expand the our area and add a popular beach location is an important step towards making the Tallinn Maritime Days one day cover the entire stretch of the Gulf of Tallinn shoreline,” Aas added.

Among other events, the Tallinn Maritime Days 2016 program also includes a concert by Ewert and The Two Dragons, a Friday night concert by Singer Vinger, the traditional sailboat competition the Tallinn Race, and the homemade flying machine competition “Karsumm – Sea Edition”. Of course, the program also includes the Muhu Strait Regatta and each evening will end with a fireworks show.

The Tallinn Maritime Days 2016 will take place July 15-17 at the Seaplane, Noblessner, Old City and Pirita Yacht Harbours. The full program is available on the website at: www.tallinnamerepaevad.ee.
